Derya Bourget, RMT

Derya joins the Brix Wellness family with knowledge and passion in Massage Therapy. She studied at Okanagan Valley College of Massage Therapy where her studies focused on myofascial release, trigger point therapy, neuromuscular therapy, Swedish massage and joint mobilization. Recently she has completed her first two levels of Vodder Manual Lymphatic Drainage. She will be completing the course this winter where she will have the skills to work with many different pathologies and lymphedemas.

Derya found her passion in Massage Therapy through many years of athletic activities. She was involved in competitive sports growing up which created many muscular strains on her body where she found herself seeking out massage therapy for treatment.

Derya trusts not only in a medical treatment approach but also incorporating a mind, body and soul healing method to achieve a fully balanced treatment. She believes that understanding her patient’s wellness journey will only benefit each person’s individual treatment needs.  She also recognizes the importance of incorporating a relaxation aspect into therapeutic treatment because being in a parasymphetic state is where the body and mind do the most amount of healing.

Due to her beliefs in Massage Therapy and the therapeutic benefit that it gives, it only seemed natural that Derya found herself becoming a RMT. She is really excited to meet her new patients and to help them on their individual wellness journeys.

Julie Delisle, RMT
